Local Fresh Salmon Runs

                  These dates are approximate, representing typical salmon run trends for our local season. Last year (2009) we experienced a sockeye shortage that even prevented our local Lummi natives from sustenance harvest. We are not sure what 2010 has in store for us quite yet, but will update our typical trend below as we come nearer to salmon season.
 
                         Last week of July Local Sockeye typically opens
                         1st week of August  Kings just begin to run, few Kings available at this time
                        2nd- 3rd week of August  Sockeye at end of run, King run increases in volume
                        Last week of August  Coho begin to run (these fish have been running earlier)
                        1st -2nd week of September  Kings at peak end of run
                       2nd-3rd week of September  King run typically over
                       Mid October  Coho run begins to dwindle (last chance for best quality of fish)
